Luxury Bathroom Renovations Canberra

We build luxury bathrooms for Canberra homeowners: the same careful renovation as every room we do, with a higher specification in the finishes, the fixtures and the comfort you use every day.

At the top end the work underneath does not change. The substrate is prepared the same way, the waterproofing is certified the same way, and the tiles go on to the same standard. What changes is what you see and touch: the bath, the stone, the heat under your feet, the light at the mirror.

What makes a bathroom luxury

Luxury is a specification, not a size. A generous ensuite can be ordinary and a modest main bathroom can feel like a retreat, and the difference is in a handful of decisions made well: a freestanding bath with room around it, a large-format porcelain or natural stone finish, heated floors, lighting planned in layers, and an exhaust fan properly sized for the steam a long shower makes.

It can be modern or rustic, spare or richly detailed; what it has in common is that nothing in it was a default.

It suits homeowners renovating the room they use most - usually the main bathroom or the ensuite off the main bedroom - who intend to live with the result for a long time and would rather pay once for the finish they want.

What we do on a luxury job

  • Space and layout before finishes. We advise on the layout first: where the bath sits so it has room around it, how large the shower can be without crowding the vanity, and where the light falls.
  • Stone and large-format tile, laid properly. Porcelain, marble, granite and travertine, and formats such as 600x1200mm and 800x1600mm. Large tiles and patterns such as herringbone take longer to set out, and we allow the time rather than rush the cuts. Our tiling services page covers the laying itself.
  • The comfort features. Heated floors, a heated towel rail, a steam shower, a statement bath and shower niches built into the wall, with lighting and ventilation improved to match.
  • The plumbing and electrical in the same program. We work with plumbing professionals so the job is completed correctly and safely, and all of it is scheduled by Oleg, so you are not coordinating trades.
  • Honest advice about the money. We will tell you which upgrades change the room and which only change the invoice.

For the finishes themselves, our tiles and materials guide compares the options one by one.

What to decide before we quote

  • The one thing the room is built around. A freestanding bath, a large walk-in shower or a steam shower. Decide which comes first and the rest of the layout follows it.
  • Heating, now or never. Heated floors go in before the tiles do, so they are a design-stage decision, not something added at the end.
  • Tile format and pattern. Large formats and patterned layouts change the set-out and add time, so settle them early.
  • The fixtures you already have in mind. Bring the names or photos; each one goes on the itemised quote by line, so you can see what it adds.
  • A style you can live with. Our guide to choosing a bathroom design sets out the style families and how to stay inside one.

You can also design the room in 3D in the instant quote designer and send it to us. There is no price on screen; the quote comes from us, in writing, after a site inspection.

How the job runs

A luxury bathroom runs in the same order as every job we do: free measure and itemised quote, design and planning, then the build. It usually sits at the longer end of the program. Large-format tile and patterned layouts add one to two days; custom joinery or moving the plumbing takes a job from the standard two to four weeks to four to six. The full sequence and the handover pack are on our bathroom renovations page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have heated floors in a bathroom renovation?
Yes, and a renovation is the right time for it, because the heating goes in under the tiles. It is decided at the design stage, wired in as part of the same program, and it appears on the itemised quote as its own line.
Do large-format tiles take longer to lay?
Yes. A large format such as 600x1200mm or 800x1600mm, or a herringbone or chevron layout, needs one to two extra days, mostly for set-out and cuts. In return you get a wall or floor with far fewer grout lines.
Can you fit a freestanding bath or a steam shower?
Yes, both are features we build in on the right job. A freestanding bath needs clear floor around it, to look deliberate and to be cleaned behind; a steam shower needs a fully enclosed, waterproofed and well-ventilated space. We check what your room can take at the site inspection.
